| In
these times of great need and opportunity we are all looking for ways
to counteract the violence we are experiencing. Learning Original Play
is a universal and practical way to build healing relationships and a
preventative antidote to violence, trauma, abuse, stress, contest behavior
and aggression. |
| Our
vision is to assist teachers, parents and children in the Northwest in
re-learning this non-contest form of play. Our team of three is ready
to present Original Play principles to teachers, staff and parents. Following
this initial presentation, which includes a video and some simple exercises,
we will come to your facility and play with the staff. |
| This
kind of training can benefit students as well as staff by teaching them
how to: |
- Recognize
safe and unsafe touch
- Recognize
the sequence and pattern of verbal and nonverbal communication patterns
in play/touch
- Handle
aggression without being an aggressor or victim
- Differentiate
between play and contest behavior
- Give
and receive safe, loving touch in different circumstances with all
children
- Use
play/touch as a process of inclusion for all children
- Increase
their awareness of physiological, emotional, and behavioral health
promoting effects of play
in children, adults, and families
- Increase
their awareness of kind touch and its energy

| We'd
be delighted to share our experiences of Original Play and explore with
you how your students and staff could benefit from this wisdom. Contact
